BRUCE PETERSON, Chief of Staff
Bruce Peterson is not just a primary contributor to The Cutter Doctor; he's the visionary behind the site. Ask him anything you want or need to know about the paper cutting and handling industry and Bruce will have a solid answer. He learned the industry inside and out during nearly 40 years of experience, and developed a deep expertise that his customers benefit from every day. Starting as a driver and mechanic, and then working as a service technician before moving into management at Colter & Peterson, Bruce has been exposed to all aspects of paper cutting and handling from machine design and manufacture to production line safety and efficiency.
Under Bruce's leadership, Colter & Peterson acquired Dexter-Lawson, Harris-Seybold, and founded C&P Microsystems to become the premier source for paper cutters, paper handling equipment, paper cutter parts, and service support in North America. Bruce has a special interest in cutter safety and productivity, and conducts safety, process, and efficiency audits and consultations upon request.

JEFF MARR, Chief of Operations
With more than 34 years of experience in the paper cutting and handling industry, Jeff Marr certainly knows how to design paper cutting and handling products and automate cutter operations to the highest possible standards to maximize efficiency and productivity. Coming to the industry with an education in Printing Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Jeff started his printing career in roles aligned with sales and marketing functions but quickly rose through the ranks to manage product lines and entire organizations.
Today, Jeff oversees corporate operations for several Colter & Peterson holdings as well as ensures that the automation technology in use is state-of-the-art and current. If anyone knows what automation can do to improve a cutter's operations, it's Jeff. He can tell you when a retrofit is available for a specific cutter and whether it will provide a worthwhile Return on Investment (ROI). Jeff also continues to design program and product options and features that have a positive impact on the paper cutting industry.

JIM COLTER, Parts and Technical Assistance Specialist
Jim is the person others call when they need to find a replacement part, even when no one stocks that part any longer, or to determine if a cutter can be upgraded with specialized equipment to improve productivity and safety. After 55 years in the industry, Jim knows the value of keeping a cutter operational for as long as the gains of maintaining that cutter outweigh the costs. In short, Jim applies his expertise in parts and technical assistance along with a business-based model of achieving Return on Investment (ROI) to help customers make wise decisions about replacing a part or upgrading their cutter.

ERIC PETERSON, Technical Service Specialist
If your cutter needs servicing or repairs, a single call to Eric Peterson and his team is all you need to make. With over 37 years of experience, if his team can't fix your cutter, nobody's can. Around paper cutters and paper handling equipment since childhood, Eric's mechanical capabilities became evident early on, and he decided to specialize in the servicing aspect of paper cutters after working in a variety of roles.
Now manager for Colter & Peterson Midwest in Iowa, he oversees the rebuilding of paper cutters, three knife trimmers, and paper handling systems in addition to parts and service distribution for the Midwestern US. The Iowa location also serves as the North American sales and technical support center for Wohlenberg Perfect Binder and Three Knife Trimmer products, and is the largest division of Colter & Peterson outside of the New Jersey headquarters.

JOE PROUDFOOT, Cutter Equipment Engineering Specialist
With 31 years of international experience designing and engineering cutters and cutter control systems, Joe's expertise in the industry is undeniably respected. Joe's input and influence are readily apparent in the raising of manufacturing standards and safety control system development. Joe's focus may be on paper cutters now, but his experience and expertise extends to three knife trimmers, joggers and a variety of other paper handling equipment. Drawing on experiences in North America, Europe and Asia, he has developed a unique perspective that enables him to take the best ideas from around the world and apply them to design enhancements.

WAYNE SMITH, Cutter Operation Control Engineering Specialist
More than 32 years ago, after mastering the challenges of design engineering in a variety of industries, Wayne brought his engineering expertise to the printing world. Having a background rich in equipment maintenance and modification experience, he focuses on the design and enhancement of cutter operation control systems. In his day-to-day responsibilities, Wayne finds himself in a variety of roles ranging from design and specification engineering, testing, and QC for cutter controls as well as training customers, dealers, and other personnel on the design and enhancements to the user interface.
